Internet Explodes as 76-Year-Old Grandma Stuns in Sleeveless Dress

Everyone has an opinion, but sometimes it’s best to keep it to ourselves.

Recently, 76-year-old style influencer Candace Cima posted a photo of herself wearing a sleeveless midi dress. The post garnered numerous comments, not all of them kind.

“It’s not the first time this has happened, but this one surprised me,” Cima told TODAY. “People have such outdated ideas about what older people should wear, and that needs to change.”

Cima, a grandmother of 11, showcased a brown knit sleeveless dress paired with a sweater.

While many praised her style, others criticized her look in the comments.

“From the side and back, this dress does nothing for you. Form-fitting below the waist is not your friend. Celebrate everything else about your body!” one person wrote on Facebook.

“The sweater on, not a fan of the dress,” another commented.

“Not flattering at all. Would never wear it alone. Too old to be showing all that skin,” someone else dared to write.

“It’s perfectly appropriate to have wrinkled skin at 76, and I’m not ashamed of it,” Cima said. “Sometimes I want to respond, ‘Should I cover my face too because I have wrinkles there?'”

Cima launched her fashion blog in 2019 to give older women a voice in fashion.

“I saw an opportunity to discuss how to dress as you age. Women have been conditioned to believe they need to cover up because that’s what their mothers and grandmothers did.”

“We need to change our mindset about age. In today’s world, we don’t need to adhere to these outdated notions.”

Despite the numerous rude comments, Cima didn’t pay them much attention. Instead, she offered some advice for her new and younger followers.

“Aging is wonderful. Everything you’ve learned throughout your life is now with you. You are now the wisest you will ever be. Embrace it and be proud.”
