Bishop T.D. Jakes, a widely respected Christian pastor and motivational speaker, experienced a health issue following his sermon this past weekend. On Sunday, November 24, a statement posted on his official social media channels confirmed that the 67-year-old bishop is in stable condition and receiving care from medical professionals.

The incident occurred during a sermon at The Potter’s House of Dallas, where Jakes was observed pausing and being assisted by individuals onstage.

The live-streamed service captured the moment, prompting widespread concern from viewers.

“During today’s service, Bishop T.D. Jakes experienced a slight health incident and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message,” read a statement from the church. “Bishop Jakes is stable and under the care of medical professionals.”

During his sermon, Jakes sat in a chair, wiped his forehead with a cloth, and reflected on the demands of preaching, telling the congregation, “It’s giving back more than you gave.” Shortly after, as he continued speaking, Jakes lowered his microphone and appeared to glance downward before seemingly experiencing convulsions. Several individuals onstage rushed to his aid, and the livestream was promptly cut.

Born on June 9, 1957, in South Charleston, West Virginia, Bishop T.D. Jakes (Thomas Dexter Jakes) is a globally recognized pastor, author, filmmaker, and motivational speaker.
