Donald Trump Makes Headlines by Publicly Firing Four White House Staff Members on His First Day as President

Donald Trump is taking swift action to shape his presidential administration, starting with the dismissal of four White House staff members.

This unexpected move occurred just days after the 78-year-old Republican was inaugurated as President of the United States, following a highly debated ceremony on Monday, January 20.

In his first significant decision regarding the operation of the Oval Office, Trump informed four White House staff members that their services were no longer required.

The dismissals were announced on Trump’s Truth Social platform on Tuesday. According to reports from the New York Post, this decision aligns with Trump’s broader objective to terminate over 1,000 staffers from the previous Biden administration.

The online post read:
“Our first day in the White House is not over yet! My Presidential Personnel Office is actively in the process of identifying and removing over a thousand Presidential Appointees from the previous Administration, who are not aligned with our vision to Make America Great Again.”

He added:
“Let this serve as Official Notice of Dismissal for these 4 individuals, with many more, coming soon.” The statement then listed the names of those dismissed and concluded with the iconic phrase Trump made famous on his show The Apprentice: “YOU’RE FIRED!”

The first individual named was José Andrés, formerly serving on the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition.
Others dismissed included Mark Milley from the National Infrastructure Advisory Council, Brian Hook from the Wilson Center for Scholars, and Keisha Lance Bottoms, who had been part of the President’s Export Council.

Trump’s First Actions as President: Key Changes

Immigration Policies
One of Trump’s earliest executive orders designated Mexican drug cartels as a “foreign terrorist organization.” He labeled border crossings from Mexico as an “invasion” and deployed military personnel to act as immigration enforcement agents.

Additionally, the U.S. Refugee Admission Program has been paused and will now undergo reviews every 90 days. Trump also reversed automatic citizenship for children of undocumented immigrants born in the United States.

Immigration has long been a cornerstone of Trump’s platform, dating back to his 2016 campaign promises, including the construction of a border wall.

Environmental Policy and Climate Change
The Trump administration has withdrawn the United States from the Paris Climate Agreement, which aims to curb global carbon emissions.

Other reversals include removing a Biden-era initiative to promote electric vehicles and lifting restrictions on fossil fuel production on federal lands that had been imposed by the previous administration.

Withdrawal from the World Health Organization
Trump signed an order withdrawing the United States from the World Health Organization (WHO). He justified this move by criticizing the organization’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic and claiming the U.S. was unfairly burdened with disproportionate financial contributions compared to other nations.

TikTok Ban
The U.S. ban on TikTok has been temporarily paused for 75 days after being briefly enforced. American users were notified that the app was “unavailable” during the one day the ban was active.

Gender Policies
A new executive order declares that the United States will only recognize “two sexes: male and female,” emphasizing these as immutable biological realities.

The order mandates that federal agencies remove any language, policies, or forms promoting gender ideology. Federal funding for such initiatives has also been terminated, aligning with the administration’s stated goals.
