She eventually decided to go on a diet after years of applying corn starch to skin folds and needing assistance from others to avoid yeast infections. She also starred in the popular US show My 600lb Life around this time.

She lost over 500 pounds by 2021, at which point she was completely different.

It was a challenging trip with many highs and lows.

Her early refusal of the 1,200-calorie diet she was given was something that Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, also known as Dr. Now, who dealt with her on the show, had to cope with. She even made the decision to stop trying to lose weight at one point, even though she wanted to do so so that she wouldn’t be a burden to her family.

Despite a few setbacks along the way, Pauline eventually lost enough weight to qualify for skin removal surgery after initially gaining weight under the doctor’s supervision. She lost 300 pounds.
