Candace Leslie Cima, 76, Defies Conventional Expectations with Her Graceful Aging and Bold Style Choices

A 76-year-old woman has been judged for not wearing attire deemed appropriate for her age.

Unfazed by the criticisms, Candace Leslie Cima responded by flaunting her flawless figure in a chic black one-piece swimsuit.

She remains unbothered by negative comments and continues to demonstrate that women can be beautiful and fashionable at any age.

Candace Leslie Cima, a 76-year-old mother, grandmother, wife, artist, businesswoman, and model, was born in Buffalo, New York. She is renowned for her blog “Life In My 70s: Aging Is Changing,” where she discusses embracing aging and provides lifestyle and fashion advice.

Cima’s fascination with aging and its often negative connotations began in her 20s and 30s.

As a businesswoman, she owns a senior housing community and has been in this field for over 32 years. Reflecting on her experiences, Cima concluded:

“The one thing I know for sure is that Aging is Changing. We are not our mothers or our grandmothers. We now have the chance to be productive, intelligent, compassionate, and stylish women throughout our later years.”

Cima is also known for showcasing her fashion on TikTok, where she wears trendy, youthful outfits. Despite having 94,000 followers, she often faces trolling over her clothing choices.

Critics often say she doesn’t dress her age and deem her outfits inappropriate. However, the unbothered 76-year-old continues to wear what she loves, undeterred by the negativity.

In a previous TikTok video, she sported a short-sleeved white top, edgy light blue slacks, and open-toed white heels—a look one might see on someone in their late 20s to early 30s. She responded to a comment saying she shouldn’t wear such clothes at 60 by correcting that she was actually 75 at the time.

Another standout moment was when she appeared in a TikTok video wearing a chic, figure-hugging black one-piece swimsuit while on vacation in Florida, receiving praise from her supporters.

Cima created her TikTok account to challenge negative stereotypes about aging. She aims to empower women of any age to embrace the beauty of aging naturally and gracefully.

Ignoring those who criticize her for wearing certain clothes at her age, Cima inspires other older women. On her blog, she frequently discusses the aspects of aging she enjoys.

Her favorite elements of aging include being less stressed, accepting things out of her control, learning new skills, and being fearless. According to Cima, aging can be the best time of someone’s life:

“Many older women live vibrant and fulfilling lives as they age. More and more women are setting records and breaking through barriers.”

Cima emphasizes that, despite some older women setting self-imposed limitations, others should not be influenced by the idea that age restricts capabilities.

As she has aged, Cima has become more aware of how anxiety and stress affect her. She shares that through meditation and self-awareness, she has learned to manage these feelings and their physical effects.

Cima continues to ignore ageist criticism on social media.

With aging comes perspective and experience, which shape one’s attitude toward life. Cima says:

“Attitude is everything, and changing how you look at something can change how you feel about it. Changing how you feel about it can change the outcome… Aging does not mean stopping; it means you now have accumulated wisdom that is unstoppable if you want it to be.”

Beyond her fashion statements, Cima’s slender physique speaks for itself. She maintains her figure by staying fit and active.

In another TikTok video, she showcased her impressive yoga skills, demonstrating her flexibility with various poses, inspiring viewers.

A 38-second clip showed Cima in all-black athletic attire, performing a range of yoga stretches, including a full split. One viewer commented:

“You are so inspiring! I am 44 and have been following a few older women on social media to provide me with examples of graceful and healthy aging.”

Cima remains undeterred by ageist criticism, continuing to empower women and inspire those seeking role models for aging gracefully.
