Add Salt to Your Shampoo Before Showering to Tackle Major Hair Issues

Our hair is a reflection of our beauty, and because of this, most of us spend a lot of money on maintenance, buying expensive shampoos and various hair products that promise healthy and shiny hair. However, you don’t need to spend so much money when you already have the best product at home. It’s cheap, easily available, and most likely in your kitchen: simple salt.

This natural ingredient is highly effective for hair care. It strengthens hair, cleanses the scalp of dandruff and excess oil, exfoliates the skin, and stimulates hair growth. Overall, it enhances the health of both your hair and scalp.

Let’s outline each benefit that salt can bring to your hair:

Use Salt for Hair:

Prevents Excess Oil: If you struggle with greasy and oily hair, salt can help. It controls the overactive sebaceous glands on the scalp that produce too much oil. Simply add 2 or 3 tablespoons of salt to your regular shampoo and wash your hair with it. You’ll notice results after the first few treatments.

Anti-Dandruff Treatment: Dandruff consists of small pieces of dead skin cells that form a layer on the scalp. Salt stimulates circulation and eliminates dandruff flakes, protecting your scalp from fungal growth. Divide your hair into sections, sprinkle 1-2 teaspoons of salt on your scalp, and gently massage with wet fingers for 10 minutes. Then, wash it off as usual.

Hair Growth: Salt is extremely beneficial for hair growth. It prevents hair loss and stimulates the growth of new hair. Wash your hair as usual, then massage your wet scalp with sea salt for 10-15 minutes. Wash your hair again. Repeat this procedure twice a week for two months.

Use Salt for Skin:

Softening Body Scrub: Combine coarse sea salt with 2 teaspoons of coconut oil. Mix well and use it to gently scrub your body in a circular motion to eliminate dead skin cells. Wash your body with a shower gel after scrubbing.

Face Toner: Sea salt penetrates deeply into your skin pores, cleaning them and controlling oil production. It also fights bacteria to prevent acne. Mix 1 teaspoon of sea salt with 4 ounces of warm water and pour into a spray bottle. Spray on clean, dry skin 1-2 times daily, avoiding the eye area.

Face Mask: For sensitive and easily irritable skin, this mask soothes and prevents irritation. It helps control oil secretion and hydrates dry areas. Mix 2 tablespoons of sea salt with 4 teaspoons of raw honey, apply to clean, dry skin, avoiding the eye area, and leave on for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.
