Ingredients

3 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
1 pound elbow macaroni
1 ½ tablespoons Italian seasoning
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cans (15 oz each) tomato sauce
½ tablespoon black pepper
2 pounds ground beef
2 cans (14.5 oz each) petite diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons salt

Instructions

Preheat & Prepare Pasta:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bring a large pot of water to a boil, add a generous pinch of salt, and cook the elbow macaroni for 3 minutes less than the package instructions. Drain and set aside.

Cook the Beef & Aromatics:
Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and chopped onion. Cook for 6-7 minutes, breaking up the beef, until it’s browned and the onion is softened. Drain any excess fat.

Build the Sauce:
Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, releasing its aroma. Add the tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to combine.

Season:
Mix in the Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Taste the sauce and adjust the seasonings if needed.

Combine Pasta & Cheese:
Stir the drained macaroni into the skillet, ensuring the pasta is well-coated with the sauce. Fold in the shredded cheddar cheese, mixing until evenly incorporated.

Bake to Perfection:
If your skillet is oven-safe, bake the goulash directly in the skillet. Alternatively, transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the dish is bubbly and the cheese is golden.

Serve & Enjoy:
Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, and serve warm.

Serving Suggestions

Pair this comforting goulash with a crisp green salad or buttery garlic bread for a complete meal.
