Indulge in the smooth and creamy delight of a homemade white chocolate mousse. This luxurious dessert is light, velvety, and ideal for any celebration. Follow this simple recipe to create a treat that’s sure to impress.

Ingredients

  • 200g (7 oz) white chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream (divided: 3/4 cup for whipping, 1/4 cup for melting the chocolate)
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

Melt the White Chocolate

Place the chopped white chocolate and 1/4 cup of heavy cream in a heatproof bowl. Use a double boiler or microwave in 20-second bursts, stirring until the mixture is smooth. Allow it to cool to room temperature.

Whip the Cream

In a chilled bowl, whip 3/4 cup of heavy cream with an electric mixer until soft peaks form. Refrigerate until ready to use.

Beat the Egg Whites

Beat the egg whites in a separate bowl until frothy. Gradually add the sugar, beating until stiff peaks form. This creates the mousse’s airy texture.

Combine the Ingredients

Gently fold the cooled white chocolate into the whipped cream until blended. Then, fold in the egg whites in two parts, using a spatula to preserve the fluffy consistency.

Chill the Mousse

Transfer the mousse into serving glasses or bowls, cover with plastic wrap, and refrigerate for at least 2 hours until set.

Serve

Serve the mousse chilled, garnished with shaved white chocolate, fresh berries, or a sprig of mint for a sophisticated finish.

This silky white chocolate mousse is a delightful dessert that balances rich flavor with an airy texture. Enjoy every bite!
