Rescued Puppy with Unique Head Tail Dubbed ‘Unicorn’ Survives Freezing Cold

A one-of-a-kind puppy, nicknamed a “magical unicorn,” is reportedly recovering well after being rescued from freezing temperatures.

The resilient pup, easily recognized by a small second tail growing on his forehead, was discovered last week by Missouri-based rescue group Mac’s Mission. He was found wandering outdoors alongside an older dog.

While the puppy was dealing with a foot injury, what truly astonished rescuers was the unusual tail situated between his eyes.

Meet Narwhal: The “Little Magical Furry Unicorn”

Mac’s Mission shared Narwhal’s story and pictures on social media, naming him “Narwhal the Little Magical Furry Unicorn.” The adorable pup quickly captured the hearts of internet users everywhere.

After a visit to the vet, x-rays revealed that the extra tail isn’t connected to any vital structures and doesn’t serve a functional purpose, apart from significantly boosting Narwhal’s cuteness factor.

A post from Mac’s Mission addressed the top question about Narwhal’s unique feature: “The extra tail on his face isn’t connected to anything, and no, it doesn’t wag. But yes, it makes him even more amazing!”

A Happy and Playful Puppy

Videos shared by Mac’s Mission show Narwhal playing energetically, proving that his “unicorn tail” doesn’t bother him at all. The rescue team confirmed: “The unicorn face tail doesn’t bother Narwhal, and he’s just as playful and healthy as any normal puppy, aside from needing treatment for common puppy worms.”

Mac’s Mission plans to keep Narwhal for now to ensure his unique feature won’t cause any issues as he grows. Once he’s ready, they’ll work on finding him a forever home.

A Viral Sensation

In a heartwarming update, the rescue shared a playful note from Narwhal’s perspective:
“It’s me, Narwhal! I don’t know what ‘viral’ means, but my foster mama says my story going viral helps all the special needs dogs here. I’m so excited to show that ‘special is awesome!’ Sleep tight, love Narwhally.”

For now, Narwhal continues to charm his growing fanbase. The team at Mac’s Mission emphasized his uniqueness: “He is keeping his unicorn horn, and yes, he’s as amazing as he looks!”
