Woman Brings 23 Family Members to Blind Date to Test Date’s Generosity

A woman’s plan to test her date’s generosity took an unexpected twist when it went awry. She decided to bring 23 family members along on their blind date to see if he would be willing to share. However, the outcome was far from what she had expected.

Her bold scheme proved to be poorly thought out. Mr. Lui, who wanted to impress Miss Zhang, offered to treat her and her relatives at one of his favorite restaurants. However, he was shocked to find himself confronted with not just Miss Zhang, but her entire extended family of 23 members. Understandably, Mr. Lui balked at the idea of paying for such a large group, leading to an awkward situation.

This uncomfortable encounter took place at a restaurant in Zhejiang, a province in eastern China, as reported by the local paper Taizhou Evening News. The woman’s intention was to gauge Mr. Lui’s willingness to share and provide for her family, but her execution was flawed, especially since it was a blind date.

As the meal progressed, it became clear that Mr. Lui was not willing to participate in her test of generosity. Instead of covering the hefty bill, he abruptly left, leaving the woman to deal with the consequences alone. The bill totaled a significant 20,000 yuan (approximately $3,100), now her sole responsibility, a bitter result of her test.

Miss Zhang did not stop there. Upset by the outcome of the blind date, she filed a lawsuit against Mr. Lui. The court eventually ruled that Mr. Lui should only pay 1,400 yuan of the bill.

In hindsight, the woman’s attempt to gauge her date’s generosity was both unsuccessful and costly. Despite possibly noble intentions, her method of testing Mr. Lui’s character backfired spectacularly. This incident serves as a reminder that honesty and communication are essential in any relationship, rather than elaborate tests of character.
