Jennifer Garner Opens Up About Losing a Friend in California Wildfires

Actress Jennifer Garner recently opened up about the profound loss of a close friend due to the devastating California wildfires. This heartbreaking news comes shortly after she mourned the death of her father.

In a touching interview with MSNBC’s Katy Tur, the 52-year-old actress shared her grief, saying, “I did lose a friend who did not get out in time. My heart bleeds for my friends. I can think of 100 families, and there are 5,000 homes lost.” Garner also reflected on the personal impact of the tragedy, admitting, “I feel almost guilty walking through my house. What can I do? How can I help? What do I have to offer with these hands, these walls, and the safety that I have?”

Teaming up with renowned Chef José Andrés and his organization, World Central Kitchen, Garner has been actively involved in providing aid to those affected by the LA fires. She praised Chef Andrés’ quick response, saying, “It is incredible to watch World Central Kitchen and Chef José come in and say, ‘We’ve got this handled. Don’t worry. We’ve got you.’”

Garner also highlighted the need for supporting families during this challenging time, focusing on providing shelter and resources for parents and children. Reflecting on the destruction, she shared, “I’m looking at the chimney of someone I loved. It’s awful — kind of unimaginable.”

The wildfires, which have claimed 24 lives as of January 12, include child actor Rory Sykes among the victims. His mother, Shelley, shared on social media that Rory tragically passed away when the cottage they lived in was completely destroyed by the flames.

Garner’s efforts, along with those of Chef Andrés, serve as a reminder of the importance of community support during such devastating times. Please SHARE this story with your friends and family on Facebook to help spread awareness.
